Case Study: Fisher & Paykel and DCS Microsites

SITUATION

Fisher & Paykel Appliances had recently acquired DCS Appliances and wanted to send out press kits to all the major industry publications in order to share this and other news about the company. They had previously sent out Microsite AutoRun CDs with press releases, company information, and photos. Because this had successful results in the past, it was decided to continue to do this, but to redesign the sites to include more relevant information, be easier to navigate through, and to have a more contemporary look and feel.

SOLUTION

Eventhough the microsites would be released to the international media as an autorun CD, the focus on design and navigatability was the same as any other web-based project. A similar design but clearly separate color palates were used for the microsites to define the relationship between the two brands. Thumbnail galleries for photos and logos, and brief descriptions of the press releases were used to simplify the content search process for the media.

RESULT

These Microsite CDs were very successful. Fisher & Paykel and DCS have continued to use these microsite formats for releasing information to the media.
